Building a Room in the WoMansion

What is WoMansion?

One of the highlights of 2020 was having the opportunity to participate in the building of a digital mansion. The rooms display the creative efforts of 13 women from around the world, dipicting our lives through 2020, Covid, and isolation.

This was the brainchild of Anna Gunn of McGunn Media. I’ve known Anna for years as a star, a mentor and and an ever flowing source of inspriation in various online photography groups.

Tech savvy and fellow creative soul, Katherine Gooding, was our code warrior and through the use of digital trickery, made all ot these rooms come alive in 360 glory. You can go into each room and have a look around. Rooms open up into other rooms, creating an adventure of exploration and discovery.

I chose to use a perspective grid to design my room walls digitally. All the parts of my room are created from photographs I’ve taken around the world. From Croatia, to Paris, to Tibet, to Jerome, AZ. The walls represent places I’ve been and places I’d love to return to when it is safe to travel again.

How has Covid been for me? I’m grateful to have a job and to be able to work remote. I’ve stayed inside and avoided most people, except to get out and hike in the great outdoors. In Nature and through indulging creative play, I endure the long game. I can’t wait to throw my arms around my kids and my friends.

The Owl Room

In the Spring of 2020, I discovered these owls nesting in a abandoned Heron nest on the eve if the highway overpass, overlooking the train tracks in downtown Littleton, CO. 

In this room, you can click into a room within a room to have an intimate look at the owls. You’ll feel like you are right in there with them.

The Fairy Room

One of the biggest projects I’ve worked on over the last year has been a Fairy Tale. It’s a project I collaborated on with a Fashion friend, Kati Foster of KatDog Couture, and a couple of model friends, Emma Dubin and LaRue Allegretto. This room incorporates the crow and cloth that inspired the whole thing. From inside the room, you can enter the fairy cube and dance around in their worlds with them.
